You need to combine Socrates and Nietzsche. You need to think, but you need to do. If you believe only one is 100% right you can either go down the road of overthinking and anxiety, or the other path of a destination you never wanted and many missed opportunities that you never thought of as applying to your strengths. Think and do my friends.

Hegel in a nutshell: God is reality. God is his creation. God exists in time and we are not yet at the end of time, therefore God is not yet fully God. God is not yet perfect. Since I happen to be an aspect of God, I am going to bring about God's perfection. I'm not going to define what the fuck "perfection" is, but trust me bro, we'll know it when we see it...Oh and by the way, if you oppose me, then you must oppose God. You must oppose the supreme good. Why would you do that you evil person you? I'm gonna have to deal with you somehow you bastard... Now change the word "God" to state or government and "perfection" to utopia...You've now just explained why anyone inspired by Hegel (basically all marxists, all progressives and most socialists and etc etc etc) seem fucking OBSESSED with constant fucking forward movement. You've now also explained why they are so goddamn arrogant that they think they know best and if you deconstruct the dialectic, you figure out why their methodology for bringing about this completely vague apparently perfect state is so goddamn stupid. Hegel was an arrogant sophist who had a childish metaphysics, a laughable sense of logic and an over attachment to hope. Hegel was the philosopher of hope. If you figure out why his philosophy has brought about such awful ideological movements and such horrible totalitarian regimes, then you'll have figured out why hope is absolutely NOT a good thing and why contrary to popular thought, it actually has an incredibly dark history. Reality is complete as it is. We already know from Einsteins work on relativity that space and time emerge from matter. There is no end of time. Time is not linear on a universal scale. Ergo, Reality/God/The Absolute/Infinity or whatever fucking word you wanna use, does NOT need us to do anything to be what it is. Only a CHILD would confuse his feelings about reality with reality. Only a CHILD would feel a sense of lack and then assume that means God/reality is lacking. Hegel's entire bullshit about God not being perfect and us needing to help God be perfect isn't just profoundly arrogant and childish, it's also technically INCORRECT. You'll have to excuse my irateness and vulgarity...If even a tenth of people understood these concepts aswell as I do, they would be OUTRAGED at this arrogant sophist of a man and what his childish philsophy and metaphysics wrought on the world. Millions and millions dead, because of this immature charlatan. It's a complete travesty and I have absolutely zero fucking doubt in my mind that if Schopenhauer would of been able to see how history panned out and who Hegel would ultimately end up influencing and how that cost humanity so dearly, I've no doubt Schopenhauer would of felt tempted to assualt or even kill the "man".

Existence is significant to those that exist. One reason why (maybe the biggest reason?) is because existence is temporary. Life is short. If there's only 1 truth to the universe it is that everything changes. Nothing is static. Nothing lasts forever. Things live then die. Stars, planets, continents, mountains only exist for a while, from creation to destruction. And the meaning of the universe?? 42.

This morality that is beyond good and evil requires rejecting humanity and becoming animals. This is a formula to create the opposite of civilization. Humans are entirely incapable of creating their own morality without surgically removing parts of their brains in which case they would also be incapable of the perception required to evaluate the results.

  • @koremeltdown7258

All of this rides on the assumption that reason and compassion are social constructions rather than inherent attributes of humanity. There is no attempt to question the nature of humanity here, just a rejection of reason based on empirical observations of its power garnering success in its historical absence. If power is your highest virtue, this is reasonable so to speak.

The one counter argument to this Nietzschean narrative is that his belief in right by strength and pride alone rather than reason or rhetoric stems from his wider world view which reflects in his first famous sentence as you quoted: "God is dead...". With this argument his imparative would make sense but still this raises a question that should we to reduce humanity to just basic instinctual level and to that of mere animals then all the complexities of society seems to vanish and wither away it would only create more 'us vs them' than those that exists in post socratic world view including those of religious rhetorical biases. Cooperation needs security specially within a tribe. The role of Reason or religion is not to give dominion of earth to the meek even if it claims so, neither to destroy hierarchy altogether but to channel it in a constructive questionable way. If we were to put this idea of instinctual argument of "i did because I can" then the question arises hoe far are we to extend this? Would it exist beyond our tribe or even within? What would then be the major of cooperation between different communities if superior dominance of one is to be exerted without any divinely inclined or logical reason? Even though one can draw parallels between Nietzsche and Hitler not in ideological sense but in that they both seemed to be possessed by this wodan like collective consciousness, if you get what i mean. But even Hitler had to resort to reason of pseudo scientific darwinian aryan superiority popular at those times to validate his deeds. As for Nietzsche he tried to or aspired to rise beyond the whole concept of morality itself, even from instinct if such a thing would be possible. And all this stems from what? That "God is dead...".

yeah and look where this got you too . At the end it leads you to nihilism , and then you kill your self . Nietzsche is also famous i think for saying God is dead . God is dead . This man says . So he outlived the God , and then you get Salvador Dali , Ego so big a planet is not big enough for him , and he makes todays Social influencers , who are a living talking lie . And this man critiques Socrates , because Ancient Greek culture died , what about Nietzsche's culture , dead as well . We live in Post Nietzschean world , he made WW1 and WW2 , we are in WW3 , we live in world of Tesla not Nietzsche , why is Tesla car called Tesla car and not Nietzsche car . Tesla never made a car on batteries , has nothing to do with him , so why is it called like that . Because this is his world , what is the most used weapon that defeated Tanks on battlefield in Ukraine , Teslas Wifi Drones , he did that first . So we did not even do 50% of what Tesla did . Did you read what Tesla said , his philosophy ,you think he had none ,why is he then called a God by Swami Vivekananda , Hindu Religious leader . He put him there ,a God . Or in Christianity we would say Archangel . Nietzsches work is by the way ordered . he made it not because he believed in it , he made it for a pay check as an order . That is what you get in Capitalism

Be careful when learning about nietzsch's philosophy. His sister was a nazi and inharited his estate when he died. She published several works that misrepresent his arguments to try and justify the nazi cause. He was an influencal thinker, but that is also why nazi's trued to take control of his ideas.

For me Hegel is a symptom. In Germany you have an entire class of Bildungsbürgertum, Burgois whatever you want to call them who justify their positions and privileges with being smarter than everybody else. By definition most of them will be mediocre, so what do you do? Along comes Hegel who teaches you an incomprehensible jargon that gives you the ability to make everything so incomprehensible and vague, that you can fool the other classes and even yourself into thinking that the people who use it and again yourself into thinking they something figured out. As an adaptation for the class very good to ensure their survival. For society as a whole disastrous. It has turned so many philosophy departments in a breeding ground for Scharlatans and con artists, seldomly seen outside esoteric fairs. Worst of all it has crippled the ability of political and sociological analysis to point of making social movements almost utterly ineffective

Is there some reason it can’t be driven by both logic (Socrates) and emotion (Nietzsche). Rationality, considering both the reason and the instinct; prefrontal cortex and amagdala.. poly vagal theory.. foresight, imagination, and the raw gutted final QA; “Why?” “Why not?” Land, Labour and Capital. Without land, the question should be; “Where?”

Great channel! Disagree here though… Start with ‘Parerga and Paralipomena’, no doubt! Better yet, try to find a translation of Schopenhauer’s ‘Eudämonologie [Die kunst, glücklich zu sein order]’ (a.k.a “The Art of Being Happy”- Franco Volpi’s edition, it’s available in many languages: “L’art d’etre heureux”, “El arte de ser feliz”, “L’arte de essere felici“) Now THAT’s where you start! If you only read ‘The World as Will and Representation’ you ARE MISSING THE BEST, Schopenhauer’s most mature and wisest works, the ones that made him famous and hugely influential. And also please listen to good Arthur’s advice and DO study the fundamentals of Buddhism (the Four Noble Truths), at least!
